I'm building my dream Strat

Actually, I started this Strat build in February of last year. MJT Guitars is finishing the neck and body for me, and Dan at DGN Guitars is putting it all together for me! First two pics below are my guitar so far. Third pic is inspo. Fourth pic is the pickguard and pickups that Dan makes.

DGN x MJT Guitars Hardtail Strat

Like Jerry’s Alligator, but with my preference for alder and rosewood, and ‘shredder’ style flat fretboards.

  • Natural hardtail Strat, '60s style

  • MJT body & neck finish/aging

  • Alder, maple, rosewood

  • MJT aged hardware

  • HSH routing

  • Rosewood fretboard

  • SRV-pattern neck carve

  • Flat fretboard radius: 16"

  • Heavy jumbo frets: 6000 wire

  • DGN Guitars Tru-PAF pickup set (bridge and neck - H*H)

  • DGN “JGS” single coil pickup (middle - *S*)

  • DGN ‘Blaster’ preamp (clone of Alembic Stratoblaster)

  • 5-way switch and two mini toggles

  • 9V battery box included

From Dan:

“The DGN Blaster is my version of the Classic Alembic Stratoblaster circuit. V.3 version, the most compact yet measuring 7/8 x 1 3/4. Will fit just about any guitar at the new size.

-

These are hand built with high quality Tantalum capacitors and Carbon Film resistors. They also feature a NOS JFET that is the exact one that was in the mid 70s version. The circuit board is made from 1/16 Fiberboard and is very durable. Lastly the onboard multi turn trimmer allows you to dial in the gain to a very precise level.

-

This is the ultimate circuit for early Jerry Garcia guitar tone.

-

The boards come with pre wired with 9 inch leads, a 9v battery connector and battery clip. Also included is a 2-way Mini Toggle so you can wire it always on or switch it On and Off with the suggested layout Instructions.”
