No day off
Are you TIRED of doing good? Of serving in the shadows? Of your work going unnoticed?
Servant, volunteer, professional sacrificer: What you’re doing is not glamorous but it’s important. All people care about nowadays is the numbers and you don’t have an army working with you.
All they care about are the photo ops and the ad campaigns and the social media “presence” and whatever plays into our attention-based economy.
But those people don’t matter.
Look to the servant-hearted men and women who are hustling, grinding, doing the day-in-day-out dirty work of Kingdom building and Earth restoration.
The attention-seekers have received their reward—all that attention, that’s what they get in this life! But you get a trophy and a hug at the finish line and a well-earned “well done, my good and faithful servant” from the King himself.
And THAT attention beats the hell out of empty likes and follows, donors and supporters and newspaper write-ups down here. “I press on toward the goal to win the prize for which God has called me heavenward in Christ Jesus.” You gotta keep grinding. No day off for God’s man.
